Your First Day at Carly: What to Expect as a New Team Member
Starting a new job can be both exciting and a little daunting.
That’s why at Carly we focus on making your first day with us as smooth and welcoming as possible.
A Warm Welcome
Your day begins with a warm greeting from our People Team and your future colleagues. As you step into the office, there’s an immediate sense of energy and camaraderie. We grab a cup of coffee and start with a tour of the entire office, introducing you to each team member along the way and exchanging the first anecdotes. It’s a great chance to put names to faces, and don’t worry—we know it’s a lot of information, so no one expects you to remember everyone right away!
During the tour, you’ll also get a sense of our office layout. We show you where the common areas like the kitchen and meeting rooms are, explain how they’re used, and share other useful tips about our building. This orientation helps you feel at home in your new environment.

Getting Settled
Next, we take you to your desk, where you’ll find all the equipment you’ll need to get started—plus a few Carly goodies to welcome you on board! Once you’re settled in, it’s time to meet your core team or department. You’ll usually join them in their daily stand-up meeting, where you’ll get a glimpse of the projects and tasks they’re working on. This is your first opportunity to see how your role fits into the bigger picture and start building connections with your teammates.
Introduction to Our Platforms and Resources
You’ll also have an introductory session with the People Team. They walk you through our employee platforms, and explain how to navigate them. This is where you’ll find essential information about Carly, each department, and the tools and resources you’ll be using regularly. It’s also a good time to ask any questions about company policies or procedures.
Your Welcome Page
We understand that the first day can be a bit overwhelming. That’s why we create a Welcome Page for each new team member. This page contains everything you need to know to get started, including a welcome letter, information about our Core Values and Brand Commitments, the names and roles of all Carly team members (with pics 😉), and a carefully designed schedule for your first three weeks. You’ll also find tips for unlocking success during your first days, so you can hit the ground running.

Getting to Know Your Role
The rest of the day is dedicated to learning more about your specific role. You’ll meet with your lead to discuss your team structure and delve into the details of your position. This is a great opportunity to understand your responsibilities and begin setting your goals.

We know that the first day can feel like quite a marathon, but it’s only a reflection of the careful planning that goes into welcoming every new team member. We ensure there’s plenty of time throughout the day for you to reflect and let all the new information sink in.
